Military Science (Army ROTC)
Military science is the process of translating national defence policy to produce military capability by employing military scientists, including: theorists, researchers, experimental scientists, applied scientists, designers, engineers, test technicians, and military personnel responsible for prototyping. In so doing, military science seeks to interpret policy into what military skills are required, which, by employing military concepts and military methods, can use military technologies, military weapon systems and other military equipment to produce required military capability.
Aerospace Studies (Air Force ROTC)
The Air Force ROTC mission is to commission second lieutenants through the campus program offered at Cal State University, San Bernardino. Students enrolled in Air Force ROTC earn college credits that can be used to fulfill elective requirements or to obtain a minor in aerospace studies. All full-time college or graduate students enrolled at the above named schools can pursue an Air Force commission.
Ethnic Studies
Ethnic Studies is the interdisciplinary study of the major historical and contemporary political, economic, and social events that have shaped the experiences of ethnic and racial groups in the United States. The goals of the minor are to enable students to understand historical and contemporary events as they relate to social inequality; explore how race, class and gender inequality have fostered pisions in the U.S.; use critical thinking to explore these issues; enhance the oral and written expression of critical ideas; and to prepare students to be productive citizens in a perse society.
Gender and Sexuality Studies
CSUSB offers both a minor and certificate program in Gender and Sexuality Studies. The aim of both programs is to use the study of gender and sexuality to prepare students with insights, knowledge, and interpretive frameworks that will serve them personally, intellectually, and professionally. The programs allow students to examine how gender and sexuality, as social constructs, shape inpidual lives, groups, institutions, and social structures. Students will have the opportunity to examine inpidual development, couples, families, small groups, and organizations as well as the media, the arts, economic and political systems. The programs encourage students to rigorously examine how gender and sexuality intersect with other identities such as those based upon race, culture, ethnicity, age, social class, physicality, and nationality. Toward these ends, students customize programs specifically to their interests and professional goals, selecting from a wide variety of courses across the university.
Human Development
The human development major is an interdisciplinary program of study of the processes and changes that characterize human development. The major provides an important advantage of promoting an holistic and interdisciplinary approach to human growth and development that no single discipline can offer. Course offerings are drawn primarily from human development, psychology, sociology and anthropology, with electives available from other departments.

Model United Nations and Model Arab League Programs
The Model United Nations and Model Arab League Programs at CSUSB are interdisciplinary programs, which teach students about international affairs, diplomacy, public speaking, diplomatic writing, and parliamentary procedure. Additionally, both programs provide students with a "hands-on" approach to the study of international politics, economics, security issues, and social affairs.
Paralegal Studies
The paralegal studies option and certificate program are designed to prepare and qualify students for employment as paralegals in the private and public sectors. As such they provide opportunities for a variety of inpiduals to become acquainted with the field of law. A paralegal is essentially a legal assistant who works under the supervision of a lawyer and functions as a vital member of a law office team. Such paraprofessional positions have been created by many public and private agencies, and government law offices to help meet the increasing demands for their services.
