Install Your Own Exhibit!

Anthropology Museum Internship (AMI) Program

CSUSB students of all majors are invited to apply for an on-campus internship at the Anthropology Museum.

Internships are self-paced, and require about 120 hours of work (much of which can be completed at home). Internships may begin at any time, as long as space in the AMI Program is available.

No previous experience with museums or material culture is necessary! Interns may receive course credit (up to 4 units) or a stipend up to $1500 for completed work.

Internship Description

· Work hands-on with artifacts from around the world
· Design and lead your own research project
· Install your own museum exhibit
· Work one-on-one with CSUSB faculty

While not required, interns are advised to take coursework that will help to build their skillset in museum studies:
ANTH/HIST 316 (Archival Practices)
ANTH/HIST 374 (Collections Management)
ANTH/HIST 375 (Museum Management)
ANTH 376 (Museum Exhibition Development and Design) **

** courses marked with a double asterisk are especially useful for students involved in the Anthropology Musuem Internship Program.
