ODE Economics Honor Society

Alpha Delta Chapter of Omicron Delta Epsilon

Omicron Delta Epsilon, ODE, is one of the largest academic honor societies in the United States. It has a history dating back to 1915 when John Roger Commons and Frank Taussig founded Omicron Delta Gamma. ODE encourages the advancement of the discipline and excellence in economic scholarship. It also encourages the scholarly effort to make freedom from want and privation a reality for all mankind. The CSUSB chapter of ODE is called Alpha Delta.

To be admitted to the Alpha Delta chapter of ODE, the student must:

  • Have completed 12 units of economics course work with a grade point average in those courses of at least 3.0
  • Have an overall grade point average of at least 3.0

Additionally, students wishing to be admitted must have the study of economics as one of their major interests.

See here: https://www.omicrondeltaepsilon.org/benefits.html. Upon joining the Alpha Delta chapter of ODE, the student will receive a membership scroll and a one year subscription to the American Economist, the official journal of ODE.
