Negin Ghaffari, the Outstanding Graduate Student, and Natalya Marsh, the Outstanding Undergraduate Student, will be honored at the college’s 2 p.m. May 17 Commencement ceremony at the Toyota Arena.
Geoffrey Demke, who lives in Indio, will receive a bachelor of arts degree in history at this year’s CSUSB College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Commencement ceremony, taking place on Friday, May 17, at the Toyota Arena in Ontario.
CSUSB student Annabella Garcia earned first place in the undergraduate Behavioral, Social Sciences and Public Administration category at the California State University Student Research Competition.
“I’m overwhelmed and humbled,” said Manijeh Badiee, professor of psychology. “This is the one award that means so much to me. I love teaching. I love our students. They’re why I do what I do.”
The university will celebrate the Spring Commencement exercises May 17-18 at Toyota Arena in Ontario.

The authors, Marianne Celano, Marietta Collins and Ann Hazard, will participate in a conversation about their book, which aims to answer children’s questions about traumatic events “and to help children identify and counter racial injustice in their own lives.”
