Overview

The Model United Nations (MUN) at CSUSB is an interdisciplinary program teaching students about international affairs, public speaking, diplomatic thinking and writing, diplomacy, and parliamentary procedures. Additionally, the MUN program provides students with a “hands-on” approach to the study of international politics, environmental, economics, security issues, and social affairs.

The MUN program is not a club! It is an academic program. That means: MUN is a class! So team members are expected to treat it as a class. It is important for team members to know what to expect when joining the program. Our expectations are clear. They will not be negotiated. If you cannot meet these criteria, we are probably not a good fit.

Our expectations are as followed:

  • MUN team members are expected to treat the program as they would treat a class. There are deadlines, homework, and tests. You can drop the class using CSUSB deadlines, but if one gets accepted to the program and does not follow the guidelines and deadlines, one will fail the class.

  • MUN team members are required to attend all training sessions held every Friday from 2 to 6 pm starting January 28th, 2022.

  • MUN team members should plan to be in Kobe City, Japan from November 18 - 27, 2022 (Thanksgiving break).

How to join the program?

  1. Fill out the application.
  2. Take the test.
  3. Schedule and attend the interview.
  4. Wait to be contacted.
