The Model United Nations and Model Arab League Programs at CSUSB are interdisciplinary programs, which teach students about international affairs, diplomacy, public speaking, diplomatic writing, and parliamentary procedure. Additionally, both programs provide students with a “hands-on” approach to the study of international politics, environmental, economics, security issues, and social affairs.
Both programs have been recognized numerous times for their excellence in teaching students about global issues and raising global awareness amongst CSUSB students.These recognitions include numerous Outstanding Delegation Awards (the top award given at the conference) and Distinguished Delegation Awards (the second top award given at the conference) at the National Model United Nations (NMUN) Conference. This has included numerous awards at two international NMUN Conferences held in South Korea and the Czech Republic. The CSUSB Model Arab League has earned numerous Outstanding Delegation Awards in the 20 years the program has competed at a variety of Model Arab League conferences nationwide, including the West Coast Model Arab League conference, Rocky Mountain Model Arab League conference and Southern California Model Arab League conference. Numerous CSUSB MUN and MAL students have been recognized at these conferences for these individual achievements.
