Graduate Programs

The Master of Arts in National Security Studies is a professionally oriented, interdisciplinary, graduate-level program housed within the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences. The program is designed to develop an understanding of the substance and principles of defense policy analysis, strategic planning and arms control in relation to the contemporary international environment. Flexibility within elective courses permits the student to emphasize research in national security issues of his or her special interests.

The Master of Science in National Cyber Security Studies is one of a few graduate programs in the country that is devoted to the study of U.S. national cyber security, and the second in the California State University system. The program was founded in 2015. Our fully accredited Master’s program (M.S.) provides a comprehensive curriculum with foundations in strategy and strategic studies for students interested in pursuing careers in service for the U.S. government (USG). NCSS alumni serve in many different career fields, including defense, security, and intelligence.
